Product Description

Basic properties

1. Appearance: White powder or fine crystals.

2. Solubility: Readily soluble in water; insoluble in ethanol.

3. Stability: More stable than hydrated sodium sulfite, but gradually oxidizes to sodium sulfate upon prolonged exposure to air. Decomposes upon contact with acids, releasing toxic sulfur dioxide gas.

Important notes

1. It is mildly irritating; rinse with clean water if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes.

2. Store in a sealed container protected from moisture and away from acids to prevent clumping due to dampness or the release of sulfur dioxide upon contact with acids.
